Lakers Chasing 3rd Star, Apparently Stuck In Time Loop
3 star roster builds are falling by the wayside whether the Lakers believe it or not
The Lakers have long been criticized for being behind the times, and the latest report from Chris Haynes suggests that’s not changing anytime soon. According to Haynes, the Lakers, who are hard-pressed to save their season, have eyes for Bradley Beal on the trade market:
A star player whom the Lakers are known to covet is Washington Wizards shooting guard Bradley Beal, sources say. Going after the 10-year veteran would only be an option if Beal were to request a trade, a tactic he has been reluctant to exercise.
If the definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over while expecting different results, check the Lakers into the nuthouse. The Big 3 model, which helped bring championships to Boston (Garnett, Allen, Pierce), Miami (LeBron, Bosh, Wade), San Antonio (Duncan, Ginobili, Parker) and Golden State (Curry, Thompson, Green, plus the Durant years), looks to be on its deathbed.
Ironically, it may have been the Lakers themselves who put it there.
